  1. First day after surgery

    1. We see our patients, change their dressings and put them in a surgical bra

  2. Day 5:

    1.  You come back and have your stitches and/or drains removed

    2. You are encouraged to remain inactive for two weeks to minimize any bruising or bleeding

  3. Day 14

    1. You return for a follow up appointment and are instructed what you can and cannot do.

      1. You are taught how to do Dr. Chu’s surgical massage and compression exercises.

      2. You are not to move your arms repeatedly such as cleaning, wiping, or lifting more than 8 lbs

  4. Six weeks after

    1. We check on how your breasts are healing.

    2. If everything is healing well, then you are permitted to exercise legs and abdomen.

  5. 3-4 months

    1. We check for symmetry and softness of the breast

    2. We make adjustments if there are minor asymmetries from differential descend of the breasts.

    3. If all is well, you may start light exercises of the arms such as lifting 10-15 lbs.

    4. Final check up is at 9 months.
